 I recently gave Steve Sloan two sheets of A4 paper with my ideas and character biographies for a new drama series. Steve went away and wrote the pilot script. My characters now have a life, a voice and a sense of humour. The fictional places that they inhabit have become real. But most of all you really care about them and want to be part of their lives and follow them through their various stages of development. What I now have in front of me is the perfect director’s shooting script, the visuals leap off the page, the dialogue flows and the life stories are compelling. I have also had the honour to be script doctor on Steve’s recent projects for Donia Youssef and his own projects in development. Steve’s skill makes that task a pleasure. Steve Sloan is a rare talent and a director’s dream. I highly recommend him.

 I have known Steve for a few years, first meet whilst attending acting classes together in Leeds for the study of Film and TV. From day one I could see Steve's talent shine, both creatively as a performer and as a writer. His determination and dedication to his craft is something I have admired from the start. Our time spent performing together and working on small projects was always fun, not only because he was always full of brilliant ideas, but his writing bought the characters to life and made them even better to perform.
